Medications containing acetyl-para-aminophenol were manufactured and sold by Johnson & Johnson under the brand name Tylenol. Petitioner alleges that the Defendant misled consumers by omitting to disclose and properly caution against serious risks and major side effects related to these products, up to and including risk of death. Alleging violations of the Competition Act, the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec, Petitioner claims compensatory and punitive damages for the class.
